哲蚌寺格西?扎西拉迦仁波切出生在神秘的高原、美丽的昌都、秀丽的察雅县香堆镇西拉康丁小村庄。在“仁波切”的母亲“拥拉”即将即将临盆的时刻,脑海中出现“阿弥托佛”威德光明普照,“仁波切”于此吉时诞生。之后,七彩祥云在屋顶上方萦绕多日不散。父亲“阿旺索巴”和母亲“拥拉”见此吉祥征兆,心中无比欢喜,知道仁波切大有来历。

“仁波切”天资聪慧,从小即显现出无碍辩才方面的才能,稍作指导就能熟练地拼读藏文,8岁起念诵仪轨。很多证悟者预言“仁波切”未来是一位大智聪辩、续佛慧命,具“大威德行义”的行者;是一位善巧普化众生、引导众生、发现“世俗心”、“出离心”的心灵导师。

“仁波切”13岁时,用5年的时间在家乡攻读法相学(即哲学,辩经)。17岁那年,“仁波切”艰苦跋涉,千里步行至印度哲蚌洛色林学习。(哲蚌寺是格鲁派三大寺之一,于年,由“宗喀巴”大师的弟子,“加央曲吉”扎西巴登创建。目前,哲蚌寺有多名僧人)。

“仁波切”在哲蚌寺,经过诸多才识精湛、德行严谨的上师教导,刻苦学习《五部大论》典籍,学习成绩每年都是第一。

在年,哲蚌寺近多名僧人的辩经法会上,“仁波切”起座辩经得到了满堂喝彩。

年,在宗喀巴大师古寺——噶登寺的冬季法会上,来自色拉寺、哲蚌寺、噶登寺——格鲁派三大寺的僧众们集结于此圣地。仁波切于成千上万的智者前,对《释量论》进行讲述;后又在辩经时博得满堂喝彩,得到了在座众智者的一致赞许认可,从此“仁波切”声名远扬海内外。

年,哲蚌大会上,通过艰苦的僧团集体生活和不懈地努力学习,“仁波切”34岁时在观音法台座下“哲蚌寺”被正式授予“格西”荣誉称号。并授命担当弘法利生、传扬佛陀教法的重大使命。

年,在降永琼林寺,“仁波切”于诸方学子,宣讲了《五部大论》。诸学子学成后,回返本寺,为利益众生而续佛慧命。

年,为报答家乡父老和父母恩,“仁波切”前往家乡办学。为家乡学子宣讲《藏语语法三十颂》和《音识颂》等。

年,应邓玛土登琼柯寺堪布多次邀请,“仁波切”赴寺院担任辩经导师一职。“法相讲师”哲蚌寺格西?扎西拉迦仁波切在邓玛土登琼柯寺开始《菩提道次第广论》、《释量论》、《现观庄严论》、《藏语语法三十颂》及《音识颂》等多部佛教经论的宣说教授和举办主持各类佛学讲座。

琼柯寺佛学院的各项辩经考试在教学上历来空缺。慈悲的“仁波切”按照哲蚌洛色林的教学形式和方法,为邓玛土登琼柯寺如法、严格、精心地设立辩经口试、笔试、藏语语法、辩经诵经等各项考试规章制度,并编写考试流程,撰写考纲考题,还根据僧众的考试成绩分等级建立辩经和考试小组。

尊贵的“仁波切”是邓玛土登琼柯寺历史上首位开创每年年底大考、设立每天逻辑辩论,以及为寺院编写全年各种辩经仪式的先锋导师。从经典学识到道德品质,“仁波切”对广大僧学员们循循善诱、谆谆教导。“仁波切”的教学成果显著,得到了寺内外专家学者的充分肯定。哲蚌寺格西?扎西拉迦仁波切为邓玛土登琼柯寺佛学院弥补了教学上的空白,在历史上掀起了辉煌的新篇章。

同年,在“觉蒙寺”冬季法会期间,“仁波切”对来自藏区40多座寺院的僧众宣讲《中观论》,并作详尽解析,随后大众进行辩经。诸僧众于法会期间受益匪浅,法喜充满。

在洛荣尼玛仁波切和十多位具德上师的辛勤努力和培育下,哲蚌寺格西?扎西拉迦仁波切得到了显密教义的传承,“仁波切”在诸多密法修法等方面有着甚深的造诣。(自宗喀巴大师起,洛荣尼玛仁波切是格鲁派法嗣,第一百位法座继承人。)

“仁波切”法音宣流、弘法利生、佛行事业日渐扩大。百忙当中“仁波切”仍亲自为寺庙及佛像的兴建、铸造、运输、费用等各项事宜四处奔波操劳。不仅如此,慈悲的仁波切还经常倾尽所有资助一些经济困难的学生完成学业,为生患重病者筹措医疗费用、为困难家庭捐助生活费用......得到“仁波切”帮助的人有很多。

AfterthathestudiedthesubjectsoftheMindandAwareness,theCollectedTopics,thePathofReasoning,theSeventyTopics,theSixPerfections,andothersubjectsforaboutfiveyearswithMasterLobzangSamten,abbotoftheSonMonastery.WhentheLordoftheSutrasandTantras,LamaRinchenGonpo,cametovisitKhamDagyab,hesawGesheLhagyaldebatingonthesubject“Doeswhateverisavalidcognitionnecessarynewlycognizeitsobjectornot?”LamaRinchenGonpowasextremelyhappytoseehimdebatingandtoldthechantingmasterandteacherDhondubTseringofSonMonastery“IamsurethatthisyoungboywillbeabeautifulornamentoftheBuddhadharma”andthensaidsomeprayersforhim.

LateronhemadealongjourneytoIndiawhileexperiencingalotofhardshipontheway.Whenhefinallyarrived,heenteredthelargestDharmacenter—DrepungLoselingMonastery.Whilethere,hereliedonmanygreatspiritualmasterssuchasex-abbotLobzangNyimafromTrehor.Heproperlyengagedinthestudyofallphilosophytexts,classicalTibetangrammar,andothersubjectsandproperlypassedallofhisexamswithflyingcolors.

In,justashehadwishedfor,hegottheopportunitytostandupanddebateonthefourthchapterofOrnamentofClearRealization(includedinthePrajnaparamitaVehicle)inDrepungMonastery’slargeassemblehallinthepresenceofthousandsofmonks.Inordertobeeligibletoreceivethatopportunity,hefirsthadtochallengeindebateeachofthetwenty-fiveKhanstens,regionaldivisionswithinDrepungLoseling.

In,DhenmaChokhorMonasteryinvitedhimtoteachBuddhistphilosophythere.TogetherwithThubtenNyendak,heestablishedtheDhenmaChokhormonastictraditionsfollowingafterDrepungLoselingmonasticcollage.HealsomodeledtherulesoftheyearlyexamsandBuddhistphilosophystudyscheduleafterDrepungLoseling.Inparticular,hetookresponsibilityforteachingthedifferentmajorBuddhisttexts,Tibetangrammar,andothersubjects.Theresultofhiseffortswasverypositiveasboththestudent’soutermoralconductandinnerknowledgegreatlyimproved.Allimpartiallymindedscholarsandordinarypersonsalikefoundthisadmirable.WhilehetaughttheGreatStagesofthePathtoEnlightenmenthealsoincludedteachingsonavarietyofdifferenttextssuchasTheFoundationofGoodQualities,EssenceoftheVinayana-Ocean,BeginningandEnd,andothertexts.
